Pioneer Foods named ones to watch in 2014 league table of the UK’s largest foreign employers

We are extremely proud to have been named as ‘ones to recognise’ in the 2014 Sunday Times PA Consulting Inward Investment Fast Track 50. The list reveals the largest 50 foreign employers in the UK and ranks overseas-headquartered multinationals by their UK staff number with the aim of shining a light on this important part of the economy.

Our CEO, John Hiles, scooped up the accolade at a private dinner in Liverpool, arranged by Inward Track in association with ‘The Sunday Times.’ The night consisted of scrumptious food, wonderful company and a wealth of congratulations.

John says: “Pioneer Foods has great relationships with all the big supermarket chains which has inevitably helped our revenue increase to £34m in 2013, up from £28.8m the previous year. And, our UK headquarters have grown considerably this past year; now home to more than 240 staff and we predict a further increase in turnover for 2014.

We are investing in our staff with schemes such as, a shop floor training programme to help improve fundamental on-the-job skills, as well as offering off-site training to further employees’ self-development. This will in turn enhance employees’ motivation and work ethic, ensuring production is as efficient as possible in order to keep pace in the supply market, which we are confident will help us to grow. Our goal is to make the official ranking next year in the Sunday Times PA Consulting Inward Investment Fast Track 50.”

Did you know? The UK division of Pioneer Foods now makes more than 10 million bowls of cereal per week for all the major supermarket chains, and it is one of only three companies worldwide that make wheat biscuits, the best known of which is the breakfast favourite, Weetabix.
